Sr. Design Engineer/ Project Manager

Position Overview

  • This position involves applying engineering principles to design municipal construction projects and commercial and residential land development projects.

 

Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor the technical team in producing high-quality project plans, specifications, bid documents, and cost estimates for various municipal and land development projects.

  • Develop feasible design alternatives while comparing significant parameters such as typical sections, horizontal and vertical alignments, right-of-way requirements, and cost.

  • Identify and analyze the principle design features and major design alternatives that satisfy the project's purpose and need.

  • Use computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to prepare technical reports, engineering studies, and design documents.

  • Direct production work of technicians and be responsible for daily production and creation of engineered drawings and project deliverables.

  • Work with others in a dynamic, fast-paced work environment and coordinate with clients and office staff to complete projects.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelors of Science degree in Civil Engineering.

  • Professional Engineer licensed to work in the State of Texas.

  • 5-Years of civil engineering experience in designing municipal construction projects, including roads, drainage, water, and wastewater system improvements and land development projects, including subdivisions, site work, and platting. 

  • Familiar with engineering principles, techniques, and procedures.

  • Experience using computer-aided design techniques.

  • Have a proven ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees, clients, and public agencies.

  • Possess a working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D and MS Office Suite.

  • Exhibit effective communication skills, both oral and written.

  • Must be reliable and dependable.
